Jaguar F-Type Group 44 | GT4-spec
Ask any of my friends and they will tell you that I don’t like green cars. At all. However, to every rule there is an exception and in my case, the exceptions are the (predominantly white) Group 44 cars with their two-tone green liveries sponsored by Quaker State.

Martin Sifredi is a passionate car enthusiast who is gradually building on his Alfa Romeo car collection. He eventually wanted to build his own Alfa Romeo race car and chose one of his favourite models: the 1991 Alfa 33 Boxer 16V. He deemed this particular model a perfect choice, because they are such great cars to drive in factory trim. He already owns a show winning 1991 33 16V, so it was a natural progression for him to find another 16V to use as a base for his project.

Igor Sushko, founder of AutomotiveForums.com, asked the AF members to come up with livery ideas for a racing project in Japan. He wanted a livery based on a black car, to stand out from all the white car based liveries of most 911s. Well, here is what I came up with so far:
I used the Porsche logo as a base for my livery design. The idea is that the car is wrapped in it’s heritage, symbolized with the traditional crest. Didn’t like the colored version, so I tried out the same in grey-scale. Came out a bit dull, IMO. To add more contrast to the car, I decided on a black, white and red scheme. What do you think?
The white car (V04) is a more LeMans oriented livery. It features newspaper clippings from the good ol’ days of racing at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

Sometimes you just stumble across something by chance. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I went to my local shopping mall and they had a dozen or so Formula 1 cars from all eras on display. It was just a couple of minutes before the mall closed and on the last day of the exhibition, so I could only snap a few pics. Thought I’d share them with you here at VirtualModels.org.

VirtualModels salutes Team MATBE-racing for winning 2nd place in class H2 at the 8th race of the VLN 2011
Drivers Harald Schlotter and Thilo Winkler from MATBE-racing won second place in the H2 class at the 8th race of the 2011 VLN season. Their trusty 2 liter BMW 320iS (E30) with the S14 engine ran without any problems. Thilo set the fastest lap with an official time of nine minutes and fifty seconds (09:50). For those who don’t know the VLN: one lap includes both the Nürburgring Grand Prix course and the famous Nordschleife, totaling just over 25km. Die Fahrer Harald Schlotter and Thilo Winkler vom Team MATBE-racing gewannen den zweiten Platz in der H2 Klasse beim achten Rennen um den 2011er VLN Langstreckenpokal. Der BMW mit einem BMW S14 Motor ausgestattete 320iS (E30) lief ohne Probleme. Thilo fuhr mit neun Minuten und fünfzig Sekunden (09:50) die schnellste Runde. In der VLN werden sowohl die Grand Prix Strecke des Nürburgrings als auch die berühmte Nordschleife gefahren. Die gesamte Streckenlänge beträgt knapp über 25km.
